Alastair co-founded Westley Consulting back in 2002 after over 20 years working in food and farming culminating in him being a director of the UK’s largest potato company. He left the corporate world and launched Westley to bring his expertise across field and farming, packers, processors, and the wider supply chain to clients across the UK.

An experienced business professional with a RICS Certificate in Construction Management and a Diploma in Coaching and Cultural Change, Alastair has also held roles as the director and co-owner of a property development business, as managing director of a furniture business, and as a director of a not-for-profit farming project. He carries substantial board experience, and combines this with enviable industry expertise.

Alastair specialises in: business planning and strategy, project management, finance, and one-to-one coaching and mentoring.

Rick works with businesses to support them to become investment-ready, secure funding, and deliver major capital projects. An MBA graduate with a Post Grad in Management, Rick has worked in the public and private sector for more than 20 years, and has secured £millions in investment and supported the creation of hundreds of new jobs in food, tourism, manufacturing and the service sectors.

Leading boards of directors and senior managers through strategic change, major capital investment, and business growth, Rick has excellent connections with both funders and statutory agencies.

Methodical and systematic, Rick specialises in: grant applications and compliance, procurement, project management and business planning, global supply chain analysis, foreign direct investment, inward investment, expansion and relocation, and lean capital investment structuring. He has also acted as an expert witness for fraud cases related to procurement and government funding.

The newest member of the Westley Consulting team, Matt has a BSc Degree in Construction Project Management. Before joining our team he worked as a Construction Manager for one of the world’s largest providers of technical, professional and construction services.

Managing diverse projects from £1million to £300million scope, he took care of the entire project lifecycle, from concept, to design and procurement, through to construction and final handover. He is hugely committed to maintaining the highest health, safety and environmental standards, as well as meeting programme and cost allocations, and quality specs too.

Matt specialises in: planning, programming, site team and contractor co-ordination, pre-construction and feasibility studies, contract and commercial management, reporting and data gathering, design and engineering, proposal and tender analysis, close-out and commissioning, quality inspections and implementation of standards and procedures.
